During the Revolution, grandfather to William Hezekiah Mosby (pictured below) Hezekiah Mosby was a Patriot.
During the Civil War, Colonel John Singleton ("Ranger") Mosby was a well-known military leader for the South.
William Hezekiah Mosby married Frances Abigail James (often known as "Fanny James") from Mobile, AL. Her family can be traced back to the Mayflower (Howland/Tilley), through royalty in England to Charlemagne. Fanny James Mosby was a teacher for over 50 years.
